Embroidery Workshop for Beginners
Our popular tutor Agnieszka Jakubczyk (Uisce) returns for another workshop and to share her love of embroidery. This workshop is designed for those who are interested to learn the fundamentals of embroidery: various linear and filling stitches and combining them to produce a finished project.
Date: September 12th 10.30 - 3pm. There will be a lunch break between 12.30 and 1pm but please note we can no longer provide lunch so please bring your own.
Venue: The Community Centre, Sandy Lane, Blackrock
Learning basic stitches on a specially designed project (suitable for using various linear and filling stitches).
The participants will start with the simplest stitches: stem, satin, surface satin, backstitch.
We will be progressively going into more complex stitches: couching, chain, blanket stitch.
If time allows basic beadwork will also be included.
Cost: €45 which includes materials and the use of an embroidery hoop for the duration or the workshop
Booking is essential either by prepaying for the course online or by paying a deposit of €20 in the shop and the balance on the commencement of the workshop. Please note deposits are non-refundable unless a replacement is found.
A minimum number of 5 participants is required for the workshop to proceed.
Please note: Due to the risk of spread of Covid 19 the wearing of masks or face shields will be required by participants.
