Imbolc or Imbolg (Irish pronunciation: [ɪˈmˠɔlˠɡ]), also called Saint Brigid's Day(Irish: Lá Fhéile Bríde) is a traditional national festival. It marks the beginning of spring, and for Christians it is the feast day of Saint Brigid, Ireland's patroness saint.

From 2023 Ireland celebrates St Brigid with a  national holiday on 1st Monday of February

it is said that St. Brigid converted a dying pagan by fashioning a cross out of the only thing she had available- reeds. These improvised crosses are now a staple of this feast day celebration!

St. Brigid’s crosses are made and exchanged between friends and family."
