Although this linen has already been washed by the manufacturer, pre washing is recommended (especially for dressmaking) before cutting out the garment as natural fibers can shrink up to 10%. While enzyme washing helps soften fibers, it does not guarantee that all potential shrinkage is removed. Pre-washing ensures the garment won't shrink or change shape after it is finished.
